Moved to Galena, Illinois

(Galena, IL) Hi  77 Lo 64 -- We checked the radar before we left and knew we'd be having rain today.  The trip to Galena, IL was only two and half hours, so we took our time getting ready to go.  We dumped our tanks and were on our way by 10:45.

We had good weather until about the halfway point. I heard on the radio a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for the county we were currently traveling through. We were wondering just how bad it was going to get. Luckily the storm went to the North of us. But we were in and out of rain the rest of the way.

The terrain is interesting in Iowa.  The corn is so tall, we can see quite a difference from the time we started heading south a month ago. It started getting very hilly as we got closer to Galena. We're anxious to see the town, we've heard so much about it.

Here's a view from our site... what's that building in the distance with the blue roof? Oh my, it's a Culvers!

We're at Palace Campgrounds, and it's a very nice park. I'll take more pictures and post them before we leave. It's just too rainy to get out anymore today.

We're here for four days and we have a lot to see and do, so stay tuned.

We'll have to try Culver's when we get a chance. We enjoyed Five Guys since you had mentioned them in your blog also. Safe travels.

Well the two of you are going and blowing! I know you are having so much fun! We are in Arkansas on the Arkansas River. It rained here last night and the temps are cool now. Wish they would stay that way for a while but I know they will not. Stay safe and maybe we will cross paths
