Another Day Older

(Endicott, NY) Hi 84 Lo 64 – SILENCE, that’s what you hear at this campground. We’ve been in noisy campgrounds the past few weeks and this one is so quiet it’s almost deafening. We both slept late this morning.

Today is my birthday.  I want to say thank you for the emails, calls, and Facebook wishes.  It’s great having friends to help celebrate.

We had quite a few days that we were on the go so today we stayed in and did indoor stuff. I'm still working on organizing our photos on the pc. Jim did the laundry and I  cleaned up the RV a bit. Other than that, we basically just wanted to chill out.

For the past several years Jim has treated me to a lobster dinner on my birthday. We found a Red Lobster close by just outside Endicott.  On the way there we took some pictures of the area. This is just a mile from the park. There’s some very steep hills and it’s beautiful all around us.

When we did our route to here from Pennsylvania, it had us going through downtown Endicott. Jim studied the route on Google Maps, including the street view, and saw this underpass. If you click on it to enlarge it, you'll see that the height reads 12' 6".

Anything under 13' 6" is too low for our rig to pass under. I'm sure glad he found this out before we rolled up to it. We took an alternate route and all was well.

My lobster dinner was fabulous this year.  Every year the quality of the lobster is different. Sometimes it's overcooked, but this year it was prepared perfectly and very tender and tasty.

And for dessert, chocolate cake and ice cream. Yummy! Jim had to help me eat it.

We came back home for a quiet evening. Jim started to research the route to our next destination, the Niagara Falls area.  We are also doing more research on campgrounds in Canada.  The excitement is building!

Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Can't wait to hear and see about your Niagra Falls visit. I went to look for our 1998 pictures on the computer and realized that was before I owned a digital camera;o))

So I will be looking to see lots of photos!!

that underpass thing, i remember they paved the road under this one bridge, but never changed the signs. along came this open tractor trailer loaded with caged live chickens,WELLL the top two layers of cages didn't make it under the bridge, everbody in the neighborhood was chasing & catching them & taking them home instead of giving them back, sort of like free range chickens. HA ! HA! that was some time ago, they replaced the bridge with a higher one that met fed. reg.

That overpass looks like one I saw on YouTube where an RV went under it and their air conditioner went flying off and they kept going - probably didn't realize they lost it.

Belated Happy Birthday.

We stayed at the KOA right inside Canada, fairly short drive to the falls. Had a 32' motorhome then.

That's a pretty park where you are now.
