Normal Sunday – Invitation for Thanksgiving

(Wauchula, FL) -  The heat pump ran most of the night, it would turn off and come right back on.  It’s going to warm up the rest of the week back to the 80’s.  That’s more like it.

We got a call from Jim’s cousin to come over for Thanksgiving dinner.  They live about two hours north of us and we had planned on visiting them after the holidays, but we're glad to go sooner.  Jim found a campground about 20 miles from them in a town we used to live in the 70’s, so we’ll get to spend a few days there to check out the area.

We had the normal Sunday of reading blogs, checking bank accounts to be sure nothing is going on, and watching the Sunday morning news shows.  Interesting this week with the talk about what happened in the elections.

See the little disk looking thing above this home?

It’s a bi-directional TV antenna, and a lot of the rigs have them here.  The local TV stations come from both Tampa Bay (northwest) and Ft. Myers (southwest).  The owners say they work really well. We can pick up stations from both areas, but Jim has to reach up and rotate our rooftop antenna to pull in a couple of them.  Of course we have satellite, but it's nice to watch the local channels for news and weather.

Jim watched some of the Formula One race from Brazil, and then we both went for a thirty minute walk.  We’re going to try to do that every day.  It was very windy, but at least it was 72 degrees.  We spent the evening watching the NASCAR and grilling dinner.

Our grandson Kendall plays pee wee football on the O'Fallon, IL "Little Panthers."  He had a big game today with a playoff spot on the line.  Our son texted us the play-by-play during the game.  Unfortunately they ended up losing.  We're told that Kendall took the loss pretty hard.  We sure wish we could have been there to root him on and give him a hug afterward.  Next year we hope to visit them during the fall so we can watch some of his games.

Computer Tip – There was a tid bit in facebook today that’s worth mentioning. When you’re on the computer and the font is too little to read, do a CNTRL + (plus) key to make it larger, or CNTRL - (minus) to make it smaller.  It works on most applications.  At our age sometimes our eyesight needs a little help.  :)

With the time change it’s dark really early.  I hate this time of year, but December 22 we’ll start to gain a couple seconds a day on the way to spring.

For those following the sun to warmer climates,  be safe.

Oh, I feel so bad for Kendall. The little ones takes those things so seriously. And getting a play by play during the game is awesome! It's got to be almost like being there :) Isn't technology wonderful? :)

We wish we were following the sun. We'll have to enjoy it thru your blog posts. Just wait 'till next year! I'll have a better tan than Geoge Hamilton!

I tried the control + but it didn't work. perhaps it's a PC thing not a mac thing.

I have no idea on MAC. Sorry, maybe someone else has a suggestion for MAC users.

We try to follow the sun, but it seems to be elusive a lot of the time.
