Our 15 Minutes of Fame - Getting Ready For the Rally

(Elkhart, IN) - Something happened yesterday that we didn't mention on last night's blog, because we didn't want to jump the gun on some news.  Jim got a phone call from a CNN reporter who was doing a story about retirees.  This all started a couple of weeks ago when Jim saw an article on CNN.com asking retirees to post a comment on where they retired to, and why.  Jim posted a comment about us living on the road.  A few days ago he got an email from the reporter asking him for an interview for an article.  They arranged a time for a phone call, and the reporter called yesterday for a 45-minute interview.  The story was published online today.  You can read it here.  We're one of eight who were profiled.  It feels good to spread the word about our great lifestyle.  The reporter seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say, and he apologized for not being able to include more information.

It was another cool (o.k., COLD) morning.  It was 48 degrees when we got up and started our normal routine of coffee, breakfast, and emails/blogs.  It warmed up pretty quick, though, and turned out to be a beautiful day; low 70's and no wind.

We spent a little time socializing with the neighbors until it was time to join my nephew Dave and his wife Tina at the Angler's Inn Restaurant.

The Angler's Inn is part of Lunker's outdoor and fishing store about 8 miles from here just over the Michigan border.  It's a huge place, with everything under the sun having to do with fishing, camping, and outdoor stuff.  They have dozens of aquariums of all sizes, stuffed and mounted animals, and even a live alligator in a pen inside the store.  And beautiful lights in the ceiling.

We had a terrific lunch, and it was great to see Dave and Tina one more time before we leave this area.

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing.  We took a walk around the park, which is really filling up.  All the buzz is about the Escapade rally.  It's going to be so exciting!

We went for a quick dinner out with Ken and Cindy, fellow RV-Dreamers who arrived yesterday.  After that Jim worked on the outside of the rig to get it ready for a quick getaway tomorrow morning at 7:30.  It should be quite a parade of RV's heading to Goshen tomorrow morning.  Can't wait!

Shhh...we don't want everyone to know how wonderful fulltiming can be. There's not enough "it-factor"
campgrounds to go around. :)

Isn't it amazing how some folks are in such awe about this lifestyle? We have been interviewed several times and each time it amazes us that there are others who have never heard of living their lives this way.

We are just happy that we found our way into this lifestyle and continue to have the time of our lives and you guys sound as if you are truly enjoying it as well.
