(Goshen, IN) – We slept later then normal, so we got caught up on some sleep. It rained most of the day and neither of us wanted to get out. We turned on the fireplace, fired up the Verizon Mifi and caught up on the week's activities. I have a bunch of pictures and info for those following the Escapees pre-rally.
Some of the fairgrounds buildings that will be used for the rally.
They laid down temporary electric and water lines in the grass fields around the fairgrounds.
There are temporary hookups everywhere. All are 30 amps.
This was yesterday while everyone was coming in.
This is today with our immediate area filled up. Believe it or not this is the same general area as the picture above. Our RV is left front.
The rain let up later in the afternoon and people were walking around checking things out. The vendors preview was today.
We invited Cindy and Ken to dinner to the Das Dutchman Essenhaus for dinner. It's the largest restaurant in Indiana and can serve 1100 people. It's Amish family style and we’ve heard good comments about it. It's more commercialized than the home we dined in a couple of nights ago. The food was super, and for dessert we had a choice of 30 kinds of pie. I had shoofly pie, which is one of my favorites. I had it when I was young and lived in this area. It was excellent, so moist and flavorful. So I bought a whole pie to bring home. :)
Our group has been meeting for our happy hours in the rabbit building. Check out our "campfire." It's powered by a propane tank.
We saw this sunset on the way back from dinner tonight. It’s a little blurry because of rain and the bumpy road.
Here is a list of blogs of some of our friends in our group. We'll all be attending different seminars and eating at different places, so you can read some of these to get different perspectives of the rally.

AND if you’re bored and just want to waste some time, try this “ball” game. I can’t get over how some people can create some really neat computer games. Thanks Phyllis for sending.

Sounds like it's going to be a great time! :) By the way, what exactly is shoofly pie? I have never heard of it.
We sooo wish we were there but just couldn't due to medical issues :-(
We looked forward to meeting you guys and a lot of other SKP'ers.
Keep 'exercising' that generator!!
We also want to know what a shoofly pie is.
