To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump --- Haircut of the SHORT Kind (Scott AFB, IL)

Looking at our Campground from the other side of the recreation area.

After our regular morning routine of blogs, coffee, and emails (bloffemails?), Jim went for his walk and then we closed up the RV to take it to the dump station.  Whenever we hitch up we're both amazed that that thing on the back of our truck is our HOME.  When we move it we remember that nothing else matters.  Everything is in the RV.  It's so neat!!!  We went 10 days filling the tanks this time, due to less time spent at the bathhouse for showers because of the heat.  We're good now till we leave here on July 5th.  It sure will be good to have full hookups again so we can use as much water as we want!  It's been two and a half months since we've had a sewer hookup at our site.

We found out the next campground in Indiana we're going to is flooded.  So far they haven't called us back to find out the status.  We paid for one night, we'll see if they get it ready before Monday or if we get our deposit back.  There are a couple of other RV parks near Indianapolis we can go to if we have to.

The next thing on the agenda was my haircut.  It grows very fast in the summer months, so I had it shaved with  a size six guard on the clipper.  I love it!   I can get up and not worry about "bed head".  :)  I'll need to do it again in about four weeks.  The lady at the salon said if I go to Sally's (a local beauty supply store) I can probably get a guard for the clipper we own.  We're going shopping tomorrow!

We had a storm come over last night, not severe but it did have high winds and lots of rain.  We had just left our son's house and it started pouring just as we arrived home.  So we sat in the car outside the RV till it   passed us.  We had our ham radio on so we could listen to the NOAA weather frequency.  We've decided to get a NOAA alert radio to be safer.  (Our ham radio wouldn't be suitable because it's not able to give alerts without being on all the time.)  We need one that we can set for zip code or a defined location and one with battery backup.  We're going shopping for that tomorrow too.

The afternoon was nice; not as hot and humid as it's been.  We didn't have anything else planned so we caught up on computer stuff.  We read about the tornado that tore up the RV park in Michigan yesterday. The severe weather just isn't giving up this year.

I have a blog for everyone to read.  This writer is so good and I laugh at something every time I read it. It's listed on the side of my blog, but thought I'd say something about it.  They're new full timers.  If you read some of their past blogs you'll see a comical way of getting rid of stuff.  Enjoy.

Just bought the same unit that Randy Warner bought at Radio Shack, it has a batery back-up,(3AAA's)a recgargeable battery pack, that can charge by solar, or an optional 6v wall bug, and it has a hand crank to charge it by hand. Also all 7 weather channels with alert, and am-fm.It is made by ETON and Radio Shack stocks them for $49.99US.I hope you guys are having fun, we are, Sam is going to have some heavy duty chain sawing to do. Be safe out there, Sam & Donna. PS.. Randy bought his a Bass Pro, but they have discontinued it so that's when I found them at Radio Shack.

Please keep us posted as to what weather radio you select. Ours died and we need to replace it, haven't started looking yet. Just thought I'd let you guys sort it all out :-)

It's not the camp near US that's flooded right? It's the one on the way in Cicero?
