Day 3 RV-Dreams Rally

Storms woke me up several times last night so I didn't sleep much, but still got up at 8:30. The first seminar was "Buying an RV-Pros, Cons & Must Haves." Since we've already bought an RV, and have many "must haves," we skipped it.

At 10:15, we went to the boondocking/solar seminar. We attended this seminar in 2008, but at the time it didn't make much sense... all kinds of stuff about inverters, generators and solar panels. Today it made more sense and we learned a lot more about it. For one thing, we need another battery, so that's on the list yet to get. Solar panels aren't in our future (yet).

11:30 seminar was about working on the road. We haven't decided yet if we'll do that, but we're sure keeping our options open and it was good to hear that there's a LOT of jobs out there if you're willing to work. You can work for money or for a free RV spot. Lots of info and websites to check out for jobs and volunteer jobs.

Lunch: Howard and Linda, the hosts of the RV-Dreams rally, stayed through lunch to answer questions for everyone. We loved it. There's still things we don't know and hearing questions from others was very helpful

At 2:00, the seminar was "Manage your digital Photos with Google's Picasa" with Geeks on Tour for two hours. I didn't like Picasa the last time I had it loaded. It wasn't easy to learn, it crashed my computer and I was set to not be interested. I sure was wrong! They've changed it a lot and hopefully it won't crash my computer now. I'll load it when we get to a better wi-fi area and I have time to work with it. It's come a long way and does a lot. I have most if not all the pictures on my desktop in folders so I can find them quickly. Picasa will have a better handle on what is loaded AND it has a face recognition function that can find people by what they look like and put them all in one area. WOW, that's going to be handy!

Tonight was the potluck dinner. The food was awesome and there was a lot of it. I think I can get use to potlucks. I brought my chicken & dumplings, which turned out really good. It can either be super bad or really good, luckily it was good this time.

Tonight's entertainment was RV Family Feud. A few weeks ago Howard and Linda emailed us a list of questions and those were used for the game of Family Feud as seen on TV. They did a lot of work getting all the top answers and we had a tournament of eight teams. What great fun and lots of laughs. Here's a few pictures:

We left about 9:30 and back home. I did some dishes and got on the computer. It may take a week to catch up on blogs. I also owe those that wanted to know how to braid the T-Shirts. I haven't forgotten, just don't have time yet to get to it.

I have never cared for Picasa, but I'm sure they try to improve it from time to time. I don't think I'll ever try it again. I can find what I want fairly easily, and I don't want yet another learning curve.

I'm so glad you are having fun and enjoying the rally. It sounds like they cover a lot of territory.

Glad you are having a wonderful time. The after sessions with the unstructured questions and answers is probaby just as, if not more educational, than the seminar sessions. Keep us all updated.

Glad you guys are having a good time at the Rally. We probably would be skipping some seminars this time if we were there this time too. But they look like they have some new ones too.

I love The Geeks on Tour (Chris's) tutorials. I go back to their site often. Picasa seems to be improving all the time and I love it!

Nice rally pictures! Family Feud looks like it was fun!
