Reporting Stuff - Saying Goodbyes

We woke up to SNOW, again. Luckily it wasn't all day and it didn't last long. It melted an hour after it was all over. We have water back on from the city, so we're back to normal.

I have a few little updates or fun stuff to report today.

The blog I did on Feb 23, 2010, is talking about the RVatSea cruise. Wouldn't it be neat to get a big group together for those that have RV's and those that don't. We're checking on group pricing if we can get enough people to do it. Stay tuned, I'll give a contact name/number in the future. It will be after the RV-Dreams rally in April. We'll be too tied up trying to get to the RV class, visiting and traveling in Florida to think much about details. There's time before the cruise departs in November.

Little Things in the RV:

First, almost every time I fix breakfast the fire alarm goes off, even with the oven fan. That's aggravating. I did the same thing in the apartment.

Second: We're still finding things we didn't know we had. It's been dark trying to work in the side slide closet, but there's a light in it. I found it after I was done with the organizing. We also found a light inside the shower, that's quite nice to know.

Third: Our convection fan went off all by itself while making a pot of spaghetti. We found out if it's really hot (steam or heat from the stove) and gets above a certain temperature, the fan will come on. I'm glad it wasn't a ghost.

Fourth: We're still hitting our heads on the slideout above the bed. We both will have permanent knots on our heads.

Fifth: A beep goes off once in awhile that was hard to know where it was coming from. With some searching, it's the refrigerator door when it's not all the way closed. Also, very nice to know and have to alert us.

The only thing that still bugs us both is the one faucet on the kitchen sink. It's either very very hot, or very cold. It's hard to adjust to be comfortable. It's the ONLY thing we'd change, and maybe someday we will, but it sure would be difficult because another hole would have to be made.

I had an email from a friend with something new that may be of interest.
Purex one sheet is something you throw in the washer and it is the soap, then put it with the clothes to the dryer and a heat activation will give softening.

It's complete 3-in-1 laundry dispenser with 20 sheets. One detergent and softener and anti-static sheet. I looked up pricing and there's so many pricing differences you just have to pick one. I thought it's worth mentioning.

Saying Goodbyes:

We've been getting emails and calls wanting to see us now that we have a date of leaving. Everyone is so busy they're waiting till the last second. We both had lunches today with people that we've worked with while in the area to say goodbye. Tomorrow will be the RV show, taking mom out for our last meal with a few people and Saturday will be another lunch. We love it. We'll be back in town, but only for a few days at a time.

We heard from the dealer and our RV will be put into the work bay early Tuesday morning. We'll be leaving Monday morning and staying in their lot Monday night, so we'll be up and out of it by 7:30 Tues. It looks like we'll be staying in a motel for one night, maybe two if they find more wrong then what's shown up by a quick check.

Good luck with the repairs. I'm sorry we couldn't get together this year, but it will happen sooner or later. I wish you all the luck in the world!

Dee & Jim..so glad that you will be getting to the dealer and geeting your repairs done soon..Then you will be off to so many new adventures!!

Also, double check the package on the Purex Complete...I have a stackable set in our RV and we cannot use dryer sheets in our dryer.

I've heard that they can cause trouble in the Splendide washer / dryer also.

Don't know for sure, but it may be best to check it out before using the sheets.

Congrats Dee on the good news and the upcoming repairs going as scheduled!

As for the washer/dryer sheet things: My daughter bought a pack for her front loader washer and dryer and they seem to leave pieces all along the rubber ridge of the doorways. She had to pick it all off bit by bit. A real mess! She gave them to me for our top loader in our house and seems to be ok. But I don't think I like them enough to buy them again. You can't control the amount of detergent needed if load is dirtier etc.
