Inspector List Received

Last night we got the inspector list. I had no idea what to expect so this list is for those that have a condo and before you close this is what an inspector can find. I'm glad the ceiliing passed inspection. It's the same agent that saw it last time they were here.

1. Screened door for the balcony slides poorly on the track-difficult to operate.
Comment from us: It's an added door we just put up and not a concern. We'll have to ask about taking it down. It opens fine for us.

2. Magnetic latch for the right side closet door doesn't latch.
Comment: This is really picky, if you shut and push it's fine.

3. Master shower door binds in the lo
wer frame.
4. Knockout penetrations (2) in lower fireplace panel should be sealed. (Foil Tape)
5. Shower stem is loose in the wall. Stem should be properly secured to prevent movement.
6. Drain in sink slow
Comment: We've tried to correct and a plummer also worked on it
7. Shower diverter does not self-cancel when the water is shut off.
8. No anti-tip bracket on the range.
Comment: We figured out how to do it and we have the bracket

With the help of the RV-Dreams chatters last night we have suggestions on how to do the repairs. If Jim has trouble we'll call in the pros. We don't have the time to try and do something and have it wrong or in worse shape. We're getting closer.

I went to work, it was quiet and nothing to report. I got home and sold a couple more items from Craigslist then worked on packing the shot glasses. I also threw out a bunch of stuff out of the dresser.

My neig
hbor came over and may get the dresser if she can. It's the only really big item with a good price tag on it. It's a Victorian dresser and has been in the family for a long time, but I sure can't take it in the RV.

I still need to pack the kitchen, but I'm using a lot of the stuff so can't really do a lot till we get ready to move to the apartment.

Time left to get on the Road 23 weeks 3 days
(Just a reminder, this date is so we can get to Rockport, TX to meet up with RV-Dreams gathering by March 1)

All pretty picky stuff as far as I'm concerned. I thought inspectors were only supposed to be looking at major items like plumbing, wiring, roofing, insulation etc.

In most cases, if you have a receipt from a handyman that you have had it fixed, there won't be any follow up inspection! Almost makes the cash to pay the handyman seem trivial. IMHO!
