Checked out our New RV Park Home- Awesome

It was a rainy day and raining off and on, but we decided to go to the RV park anyway and are we glad we did. This will be our new home after we get the fifthwheel. It's 30 minutes south of Raleigh, so we're close to mom and Jim can get to work on the freeway fairly quickly too. I won't be working after November I'm sure. Dickens RV Park, Moncure, NC.
This is the new laundry and bathhouse. It was just built and only been in operation the last week. We didn't go in, but one of the campers say it's really nice. There's pictures on the website of the inside.

Mr. Dickens the owner comes around the sites morning and night to pick up trash. If you run out of propane, you sit the tank beside your RV and he'll pick it up, fill it, and return it to you. You can pay him at that time. This is what he's doing in the picture, exchanging the propane tank. We stopped and talked with a fulltimer in the park and asked questions about the park, his travels and overall chatting about camping. He's no longer traveling, but did from 1999-2008.
This is a view from one of the roads. There's a lot of open spots, you call that you're coming in, pick a spot, hook up and he'll be around for introductions. It's $300 a month for full hookups. It may go up later, but not for awhile. It's very nice and spacious. It looks like we'll have no problem parking once we learn how.

If we were to pull in now, this is the one we'd probably pick. The bathhouse is in the background.
My mom went with us so she would know where we're going to stay. She loves getting out so this is what she calls "vacation". A retirement home can become quite confining at times.
The humidity is very high but we cleaned out our storage shed. This is the stuff that goes to the Goodwill, along with the shovel. I don't think that's going to be needed. (HOPE NOT).

I keep boxes, lots of boxes. This is a pile of torn down boxes that we tried to dump. There's several people that are moving from our complex so the dumpster is full. We'll have to dump it all on Monday. I'd like to have the place cleaned out and looking nice for inspection on Tuesday.
It's been quite a day. We really got a lot done and more done for the big move to the apartment. Jim called the dealership today. There's a great incentive going on so I'm sure we'll be ordering shortly after closing. We still want to be sure we've sold the condo. It's all coming together. Jim took apart his clothes closet and got rid of so much stuff.

The evening hours was watching the NASCAR race from Bristol, TN. I love that race and hopefully we'll take the RV there and watch the race.

Time left to get on the Road 24 weeks 1 days
(Just a reminder, this date is so we can get to Rockport, TX to meet up with RV-Dreams gathering by March 1)

Are you getting rid of your cooler and your ladder...won't you need both of those items?

Keep the shovel! It will come in handy... to drown campfires, make makeshift irrigation ditches around the trailer, beat the rodents that try to make a residence....lots of great uses!

shovel is only for snow, it bends with weight. But since everyone mentioned it, we'll get the army shovel that has a point and folds. We kept two coolers. Ladder we're getting the kind that goes higher for the nose of the 5er.
