39th Anniversary - In the Kings Court

It's our 39th anniversary. Thank you darling for 39 great years, and I hope we have 39 more.

We got up early, 7:30 to get ready for a day with John & Bridget, our RV-Dreams chatters. It wasn't raining, but we knew it was going to later in the afternoon. We had planned on going to Martinsville for the truck race, but decided to take the safe way out and meet up with them at the campground instead. We got there about 10:30 and after chatting a little bit, we headed to the Richard Petty Museum. Now this deserves a story.

For our honeymoon, we spent a day at the Richard Petty racing team museum in Level Cross, NC. I took a picture of Jim and Richard together. We still have that picture and a couple years ago at the Martinsville racetrack we spotted Richard leaving the track in his truck and Jim got it signed. Now, it's 39 yrs later and John mentioned in chat that Richard was going to be at the museum in Randleman signing anything of choice. I can't believe it, but when we got there, the line was fairly short and we had John take our picture with him and told Richard about meeting him in 1970 and showed him the picture. The museum is awesome. They have plenty of room for all the trophies and articles people and companies have given to him through the years.

After the museum we went to eat at a small BBQ diner, not good, but we had a good time getting to know John & Bridget. It started to rain as we left the diner. We decided to stay with them awhile at the RV because it was suppose to be severe weather coming through. There was some hard rain showers but nothing more. We talked about getting on the road and how to do things with the fiver. What a great afternoon.

Thank you John and Bridget for a great anniversary time with you two. We'll meet up again, I'm sure.

Here's a few pictures of todays fun.

We got home just fine with lots of hard rain. It's been a great day and now time to read blogs, relax and have another great day tomorrow. Jim has something in mind, but I want to be surprised, we'll have to wait together to find out what he has up his sleeve.
