Rained all day, dark and dreary, but not cold it stayed in the high 50's. We're headed for some cold weather this week though.
I got up early to get a few more photos scanned just couldn't get back to sleep. It was around 9:30 when I turned on the ham radio for a special ARISS (Amateur Radio International Space Station) meeting with a school that's in Raleigh. A couple weeks ago, I was able to go with the guy in charge of the ham radio setup going into the school. It was by phone, radio and PC using Skype. It was amazing. There were only 3 places the ISS talked to today, Hawaii, Raleigh and somewhere on the Equator. The kids came up with questions then the ISS had 8 minutes to answer before disappearing.
I got to work a half hour later because I wanted to hear the ISS. The weeklies went well and I had it all done by 3:00. My review was today, finally. I got another raise! That's great because of the workloads being lower this year.
Things I've been thinking about for our next step for fulltime:
The times have changed so much and the money accounts are dropping, house sales are dropping so do we wait? We're in no real hurry to sell. If we get an apartment early, then we'll have to worry about barking dogs, screaming kids, parties, and the other things that happen in apartment complexes. Is it worth it? Our condo is quiet with no complaints with people around us. To sell at the moment the price is so low we'll barely clear much and that's the money we're depending on for the rv. If we go to the apartment we'll gain $3600 a year, if we even stay a year, is that really worth the hassle? What if things go a lot better by next summer. We'll probably have to wait anyway till March 2010, like first planned to get to Jim's 401K without penalties. We do have the truck and ready to go if we do sell, but it just "feels" like it's the wrong time to try to sell. We're not forced to sell at the moment.
This is a blog, this is what blogs are for, to get out what's happening in our lives. Am I scared? yes, just like the rest of the retirees and those that are ready to go full time. We'll think about it before the Realtor talks to both of us on Sunday. She's after a sale, so the ball is in our court. Should we try to sell before Spring to get ahead of others that will be putting their place up for sale in the Spring? Maybe. Do we want on the road? absolutely, but not in debt with the rig. If we wait till next summer it may be better, then again, maybe not. It's a risk, but we're happy, we're both working and we're not forced into anything.
Date to sell the condo???? Standby

Go with your gut feeling Dee, you'll do the right thing.
Hard decision and one that only you can make but remember what everyone in the RV Dreams family is always saying about doing it sooner rather than later. Best wishes!!!!
