Rainy - A Date

I stayed up last night in the chatroom till about 1:00. I got up at 9:30 and was ready to go. I'm so relaxed with the four day holiday. Retirement on the road will be wonderful.

It's cold, rainy and nasty today. I knew it was coming but still doesn't help getting outside stuff done. I wanted to load the car today so it's ready for tomorrow to take to the donation place. I'll wait till a nicer day and maybe warmer which will be later in the week.

I did several things today. I backed up the photos to the laptop from the external drive. When I get them all done I'll put them on the laptop again, then to DVD's, that will make three places for photos. I also took all the emails from the past three years and put them in order for "how to" for the RV. For instance what happens if you have black water/toilet problems, tire problems, overheating, etc. There's a whole list of things. I'll put them in Excel with problems and answers and sort it. Sounds like it would make a good "what if book". I also got some of the campgrounds in order of where we'd like to go. It's also that time of month for a budget. Food took a huge hit this month but we did do a run to Sams club this month for bulk items.

It was a great day getting things done, and I'm ready to go back to work tomorrow. Each paycheck is one closer to getting on the road.

We discussed a date for me to put on the blog. I feel better and do things faster when I have a drop dead time date. I guess I just need some motivation, it's been that way all through school too. If I need something to get done, I do it right away IF I had a date. For the date, we've decided June 1, will be a turning point. We're going to be at our son's wedding in Chicago so will be going to Elkhart for the factory tours. We'd like to see Forest River and Heartland. When we get back, we'll order the RV and put our condo up for sale.

We have 6 months today, to order the RV and sell the condo.

Dee: That's great news that you have the date now. I had to leave the chat room last night - I was just too tired to stay. I'll try to come in tonight, but trying to finish up this research paper.

Chat soon....

Dee and Jim,
June 1 will be hear before you know it and hopefully you will have to hunt us down on the road instead of coming to Mississippi to see us. The race is on!! See you in chat.

Good luck to you - you will be on the road before you know it! Personally, I wouldn't bother with getting decorations out (and then having to pack them all away again), but everyone has to do what is right for them.
