Strawberry Festival Starts

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 72 Lo 53 -- We're in a quiet time, and it's hard to blog when that happens. We thought about going to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City, but decided against it. We went last year and we don't think we'd see anything different this year. If you're in Florida and close to Plant City, it's worth going. There's lots of activities and musical concerts. I have never seen so many strawberries in my life. This is a picture from last year's festival.











Jim had an appointment for an orientation meeting this morning at the VA Clinic in Sebring. He transferred his primary care from the Tampa VA district to the Bay Pines district, which includes the outpatient clinic in Sebring. So instead of driving two hours to Tampa to see his doctor, he now only has to drive about 12 miles.

He got back the same time I finished playing shuffleboard. One of our snowbird friends, Barbra, isn't coming back next year and she and her husband sold their park model, so she gave us their shuffleboard sticks. I had a little trouble getting use to it today. It's retractable and a little heavier.

It was a beautiful day so we did our walk then Jim grilled a couple of chicken breasts for dinner. We settled in for our normal evening routine. I'm determined to get the afghan done so I'm keeping busy with crocheting.
