Visiting - Gearing Up For Road Trip

(Avon Park, FL) Hi  82 Lo 70 -- The week has been fairly quiet. On Monday we met with Terri and Mike for lunch at El Pirata Mexican restaurant in Arcadia, about an hour south of us. We last saw them in April at the RV-Dreams Rally in NC, so we spent the afternoon catching up. They're work camping at a State Park east of Ft. Myers, so we'll get together again during the winter. (Click on the photos to enlarge them.)

We haven't been doing much lately. We play cards three nights a week, and I'm crocheting most of the time. It's great for passing time and I like creating things. I'm really "hooked".  :)  So far most of what I've made I've sold. Word of mouth really works, and it's been fun and challenging at times getting some of the critters done. I decided to make some business cards.

Wednesday we had our first potluck dinner for the season. We were surprised at the large number who attended, since it's still early in the season. The food was good and we met several new couples staying in the park this year. It's going to be a fun year and it's good to see our winter friends starting to arrive.

There's not much else to report. We'll be leaving by car for Morehead City, NC on Tuesday to spend Thanksgiving with Jim's family. I'm ready to have wheels moving, even if it's just the car. This will be the first time Jim and I have traveled in the same vehicle in over six years. I hope we survive it. :)  We're hoping the temperature stays at least in the 60's, but we'll be ready for colder weather.

We'll post an update during the week from North Carolina.

We're heading back to the Carolinas at the same time and would really appreciate any help you can give with the weather. We saw some lows in the 30's and that just seems too low, too early;o((

Safe Travels...

Unfortunately we'll be sitting still this winter but will become official Fulltimers next spring. We'll be biting at the bit for any kind of roadtrip.
Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

How nice to get together with Mike & Terri! We sure miss everyone, even though we are among some RV Dreamers here at Amazon. Have fun in NC!

We have been without Internet for so long I have lost track of everyone. We are back in at the lake with Internet to spare.

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
