Checking Out Jennings

(Jennings, FL) Hi 86 Lo 65 -- We had the best sleep in a long time last night. It's like our successful first day of travel eliminated all the pressure and anxiety leading up to the start of our travels. Jim slept later than usual, and so did I.

We had a leisurely morning with coffee and computers. There's absolutely nothing 'touristy' worth seeing in this area, so for something to do we drove about eight miles north on I-75 to Lake Park, GA to an outlet mall. I found a pair of slacks I needed at Bon Worth, one of my favorite stores. Jim stocked up on several boxes of Boston Baked Beans at a dollar store, one of his favorite candies that he can never seem to find. We went to lunch at Zaxby's, a fast food place we really like and haven't been to all winter. On the way back to the campground we took a drive through Jennings, which didn't take very long. It's very small, with no traffic lights and one little grocery store.

A serious storm front is coming in from the West, so we're keeping a close eye on the weather. We'll go to the clubhouse if anything gets severe. I turned on the alert system on my smart phone. I hope it works if we need it.

We watched some recorded shows this afternoon. Jim went to fill his truck with diesel and I did another walk around the lake. We'll pull out tomorrow morning toward Columbus, GA.

That's the one thing I don't like - being in an RV when there's a strong storm coming through. Love the sound of rain on the roof when its not part of a storm though! :)

Hope the storm was no problem. The alert app on my phone really works well.
