Communication Day - Sunday Night Live

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 52 Lo 36 -- It was a very chilly day, but it won't last long. It should be back to near 80 by Thursday. We went to church, and when we got home I made a late breakfast of bacon and eggs, then we made some calls to our family.  Sunday is when we do most of our family communication. I called my mom and sister. They're doing very well. Mom is feeling a lot better since starting to take some herbs from a chiropractor she's been seeing. Jim's brother called him and they talked for awhile.

The park wi-fi was very slow today, and we kept getting disconnected. We tried using the hot spot feature on our smart phones but it was just as slow. I'm sure it's because so many people in the park are at home, inside, and on their computers today since it's so cool out. Our son is in Africa and we connected through Skype, but it didn't last long. We both couldn't get a very good connection, but we could still write on the Facebook chat to each other. They're doing well and will start their mission work tomorrow. To keep up with them please  click here for their blog.

We watched the Daytona 500 time trials this afternoon. Jim roots for Danica Patrick, who got the pole, and I'm for Jeff Gordon, who will start next to her on the front row. Should be a fun race in our house next Sunday. :)

This evening we went to church for "Sunday Night Live." It was the five pastors and other staff members doing funny skits like they do on the TV show Saturday Night Live. Our senior pastor was "The Church Lady" and he was a hoot! The house band was DJ and the Cruisers, and they were very good. It was a fun two hour show. You don't think of going to church for laughs, but that's why we like this church.

Jackie, one of our RV'ing friends, posted on facebook a list of some of the businesses that offer senior citizen discounts. I took the liberty of copying and pasting it below. Thanks for posting it Jackie. Remember, you have to ASK for a discount, something that Jim and I do everywhere we do business. The worst they can say is no. Then we ask for a military discount. :)

Thanks for the list! I'm gonna make a point from now on of at least asking if there is a seniors' discount.

Thanks for the list. I didn't realize how many places give discounts for 55 year olds. I always thought we were too young to qualify because we're not 60 yet. Yippee!!

Another thanks for the list, there has to be some advantage to getting older.
