Preparing for the Move to Colorado

(F.E. Warren AFB, WY) Hi 88 Lo 61 -- Today we prepared for our move tomorrow morning. Jim dumped the tanks today and I got things settled in for as little movement as possible. We haven't moved much, so there was very little to do.

We've been here a week and had a great time. We learned about Wyoming from the museum downtown, visited Laramie, and seen lots of antelope in the area. We enjoyed spending time with Kerry and Marsha, our military friends, which was the main reason we wanted to come here. It's time to move on.

We happened to find the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind while channel surfing on TV today. We visited Devil's Tower a couple of weeks ago, so it was neat to see the movie again to see the areas where we walked. The movie was from 1977 so there's been some changes in the area since then, including the visitors center. When we ate at the small restaurant a couple of miles from the tower the waitress told us that the scene with the dead cattle was filmed in the field across the street from the restaurant. It's a great movie, and it was fun to see it again.

It looks like rain is moving in. We'll see if we get any tonight.

We'll be in Colorado on Tuesday with our friends Bill and Vera who are traveling with us. Then we're heading to Missouri.

Safe Travels and Enjoy!

It's about time.

I agree. That was a fun movie. I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Lately there doesn't seem to be an abundance of good new movies coming out. The oldies are the goodies.

We had re-watched it a few years ago too. What a hoot!
