(Joiliet, IL) Hi 65 Lo 48 -- We turned on the heat pump last night, no reason being cold since we have 50 amp service. It should be back into the 70's and nice this weekend.
I love starting a new month. I do the budget and get the blog page all updated in case I've missed something. The parks, routes, locations are all updated. The budget isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Food, as always, came in over budget, but we go out to eat a lot when we're with family. That should level off during the rest of the summer.
Jim did the laundry, so that's done for another week. We watched a new summer TV show on the History Channel called Mountain Men. It follows three men who live off the land in the mountains, and how they survive the harsh conditions. We love watching shows like that.
I made plans to meet with Beth, my neighbor and schoolmate from my childhood days. I haven't seen her since ninth grade. She lives in the area so we met at Vito and Nick's Restaurant, a pizza place in Plainfield.
We caught each other up on our lives, and the whereabouts of our classmates. It was wonderful seeing her again. Thanks Beth for meeting with us. We'll see you next year when we're in the area.
Tomorrow we're going to son Rick's in Homewood for our granddaughter's high school graduation party. Son Frank and family is driving up from the St. Louis area, so we'll have the whole family together. That doesn't happen very often so we're really looking forward to it.
