Graduation Party

(Joliet, IL) Hi 73 Lo 48 -- We didn't do much all morning, we were waiting to go to our step-granddaughter's graduation party at Rick's at 4:00. Son Frank will be driving up from St. Louis to join us. Since it's a slow morning I'll bring you up to date on a couple things.

I haven't mentioned my mom in a few weeks. She's doing quite well and has had cataract surgery on both eyes. The first one didn't cause any problems but the second one had some discomfort and blurriness. She's seeing colors for the first time in a very long time. She's excited about not wearing glasses but will get a pair to read with in a couple of weeks when both eyes have adjusted and the swelling goes down. We're proud of how far she's come under my sister's care since last October.

I got caught up on blogs from my list on the website and noticed a few people are going off the road. Our friends Steve and Karen, who we visited in Wisconsin last summer, sold their house and they're preparing to go full time in August. Steve has to wait a few months before quitting work, but all their plans are coming together for them to get on the road. We're so happy for them.

We watched most of the Nationwide race from Dover, DE then headed for the party. It's very late now so we'll tell about the party and have some pictures in tomorrow's blog. For now, we're going to bed.

Just noticed your upcoming locations and dates. Looks like we will be in SD about the same time! We don't have firm dates but your time frame is about right. Will be in touch later in the month.

I am glad to hear your Mom has come through the cataract surgery so well. When I had my cataracts removed one eye made it through much better than the other, and the same has held true with the cornea transplants.
