Rainy Day Good for a Movie

(Joiliet,  IL) Hi 54 Lo 48 -- It was a very cool, dreary, rainy day.  We turned on the fireplace this morning to warm up. Sure is a big change from the 90-plus temps we've been having.

We went to an early afternoon movie. We saw The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. It was a really good movie about having the courage to try something you wouldn't normally do, and how to cope when things sometimes don't turn out the way you expect. The cast of older British actors and actresses were a joy to watch. One of the best lines in the movie was, "Failure is when you don't try, and success is measured by how you handle disappointment." It gets you thinking about what's ahead of you when you get older. And it was nice to see a "grown up's" movie for a change, rather than the typical summer action flick. The theater was more than half full of mostly couples in our age group. In fact, the guy in the ticket window said they've been giving a lot of senior discounts since the movie opened. :)

We went on home and got something to eat then settled in to watch the mini-series  Hatfields and McCoys, which we'd recorded.

The kids are working so we're on our own till the weekend. Just kicking back and enjoying life.

Thank you for the good movie recommendation. I recently watched a movie from 2007 I believe - "The Bucket List." I think it would mainly appeal to a more mature audience, but it's a top-notch movie. Worth buying even.

My girlfriend said this was a great movie and also highly recommended it. She's also been watching the Hatfields and McCoys and keeping us up to date on what is happening in their feud.
