Flea Market and Movie Day

(Shepherdsville, KY) Hi 85 Lo 65 -- The days are getting warmer. All morning we kept hearing booming noises, louder than someone working on their RV's. We realized when we went outside it was the artillery from Fort Knox. Sterling and Anita told us yesterday we may hear them. It went on most of the morning.  The sound of Freedom.

Today we checked out The Most Awesome Flea Market in the World. It's right next door to our campground, so it was just a short walk down the hill. There's a huge air conditioned building with all of the typical "stuff you didn't know you need."

One category of items we saw that you don't normally see at flea markets is saddles and other horse equipment. You can sure tell Kentucky is horse country. :) We didn't see much of anything we had to have, but Jim did pick up a carabiner clip for our rig's breakaway cable that was stolen last week. And he didn't even have to buy it. A guy had a whole bag full of them that he bought for a few dollars and when Jim offered to buy one, he just gave it to him. That was nice. He'll keep this one hidden so it doesn't disappear again.

The outside area wasn't very large, about four long aisles of tables and booths.

It wasn't very hot, but it was humid. When we were done looking we walked back to the RV to cool down. Across the fence in a field next to us we saw a few baby mules.

After lunch we went to see the movie Avengers.

Jim saw it last month with the grandkids at a sneak preview in St. Louis. I wanted to see it, and Jim was ok with seeing it again. It was in 3D, which always gives me a headache, but he said it was well worth it. He was right.

We came home and got some dinner, then watched the Sprint Cup All-Star Race from Charlotte.

Sorry been under the weather the last few days. When I first read of somebody taking the clip, I wanted to state that I stopped using those years ago.

The reason being friends of ours had someone not only take the clip but released the latch on the hitch at a truck stop. They had travelled for years and always did circle checks of their rig every time including this time.

We have read posts where some were not so fortunate. Those resulted in hundreds to thousands in damages.

Since our first 5'er in 2006 I use a padlock and still do circle checks at every stop. Be Safe and Enjoy!

It's about time.

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
