Our son chatted with me online for awhile today, and talked me into downloading the game Draw Free on my smartphone. It's played like the old parlor game Pictionary, where you draw a picture and send it to your opponent, then you try to guess what each other has drawn. It's really neat to go back and forth with guesses. Technology has come so far, and it's only going to get better. I can't imagine what's in store in the next few years.
Our park management is making plans for a group cruise next winter. This afternoon they held a meeting at the clubhouse to get input on several different cruise options. We went out of curiosity, but we don't think we'll do the cruise. We've been on three cruises in the past, and the reason we went was to take a vacation from work. Well, we're now on a permanent vacation from work, so why spend all that money just to eat day and night. :) I'm not saying we won't go on another cruise, but at this point we're just not as interested as we used to be. There's also a six-day bus trip to New Orleans planned for next year. We'll probably pass through New Orleans in our travels this summer. It's nice that the park has so many things planned. It's great to have options.
Tomorrow is our 42nd wedding anniversary. We're going to be busy preparing to depart the next day, and there's also an appreciation dinner tomorrow at the clubhouse. So we decided to celebrate tonight by going to Red Lobster, where they have their Lobsterfest going on. I love lobster, and Jim takes me out for a lobster dinner every June for my birthday. So I felt a little guilty having lobster tonight. But I got over it. :)
Here's what I had... a cup of clam chowder to start is always a must. Then I had a lobster tail, a skewer of shrimp scampi, broccoli, garlic mash potatoes, and macaroni with white cheese and shrimp. Talk about yummy!
Jim also had a cup of clam chowder. He had shrimp nachos and lobster filled mushrooms.
We were looking forward to getting a chocolaty dessert, but of course we ended so full that we didn't have room for dessert. :( In fact, I brought part of my meal home.
One more day and our summer starts. We're looking forward to seeing our kids, grandkids, and the rest of the family. Then it's "westward ho!"

I could sit in a chair at Lassen National Park and look up at the trees for days on end, but I'd go crazy stuck on a cruise ship. Most of the activities they advertise are things I don't do anyway.
Happy Anniversary tomorrow guys! Enjoy!
