Last Day in Chicagoland

(Joliet, IL) Hi 62 Lo 55 -- It was very cool during the night, snuggle weather, but we slept well and didn't use any heat. It stayed windy and cool all day. Quite a break from the heat and humidity we've had lately.

I put some things away that would not travel well, but other than that I didn't do much all day. I caught up on some blogs and did some chatting with mom while Jim did some laundry. We're ready to scratch our "hitch itch" tomorrow morning.

I noticed when I got gas today the price went up from $3.81 to $3.97 since the first of the month, only four days ago. It fluctuates so much; now that Labor Day is over maybe it will go down again and stay down.

Tomorrow we're headed to the St. Louis area (actually the famcamp at Scott Air Force Base, IL). We're looking forward to more family time with our older son Frank, daughter-in-law Angie, and grandsons Kyle and Kendall. The fun will start right away. We're going to watch Kendall's  peewee football practice tomorrow evening.

Hey Dee ~ So glad you had fun with your family. I always say the gas goes up for the holidays, Spring break and summer vacations... When are you guys getting back down here? Hope we can all do lunch again soon!
Have fun & Travel safe

Newcomers Meeting - Zoom - Emerald Coast Band

Shalimar, FL  (Hi 64  Lo 40)   This week went so slow. When you're retired the days get all mixed up and some go so slow you skip a day...
