(Beaufort, NC) Hi 77 Lo 66 HUMID -- Happy Easter to everyone. Easter is more than bunny rabbits and egg hunts... let's keep in mind the true meaning of this wonderful holiday.
The muggies are here, at least for today. It didn't take long to feel hot and sticky. It feels like summer but it's only 77 degrees. We got up about 9:00 and I made all of us a pancake breakfast. We read blogs, emails and Jim read the latest on the news, then we got busy before the humidity really got bad.
I cleaned the windows on the RV. When we had it washed yesterday we didn't bother with wiping down the windows because I wanted to do a good cleaning today. While I was doing the windows, Jim washed his truck. This is the first chance we've had in a long time to be able to use water to wash our vehicles. Most RV parks don't allow it. It's been so long since the truck's been washed that he had to use a brush to get the caked on dirt off. When he was done with the truck I washed my car. It wasn't too bad as I ran it through a car wash not too long ago at Wauchula. (You usually can't run a dually pickup truck through an automatic car wash.)
When all that was done, we were both ready to head inside and cool down. The air conditioner is working well at taking out the humidity. There's a nice breeze off the river, but it just feels damp.
We didn't do much the rest of the day. I'm having lots of fun playing Words With Friends (Scrabble) with friends and family. It's challenging and neat to feel like you're in touch with people. We had leftovers for dinner with Sharon and Jimmie, then visited awhile before going back to the RV. Tomorrow will be a preparation day for our move to Raleigh on Tuesday. Jim is going to remove one of the tires on the RV that has a slow leak, and take it to a local tire shop to be repaired. With our Big foot leveling system he can lift the side so the tires are off the ground, so it will be easy to take the tire off. More about that in tomorrow's blog.
