It turns out the tire can't be fixed. We had the same tire repaired last summer. It had a small piece of wire imbedded in the tread and a dealer in Missouri patched it. The patch has started to fail, and the tire technician today said he can't put another patch over it. He applied some adhesive around it hoping it might stop the leak, but it didn't. It's a slow enough leak that we feel safe in driving it to Raleigh tomorrow. (We also have the Pressure Pro monitoring system.) Then Jim is going to start the search for a complete new set of tires. He's been looking for an excuse to replace the Chinese-made Duros that came on it. We've heard nothing but bad things about that brand. We'll keep you posted on what we end up getting. (If anyone has a favorite brand you'd like to recommend, please leave a comment about it.)
It was hot today so we didn't do much. Jim did the laundry, and we just relaxed and watched TV most of the day. It will be easy to get ready to move tomorrow... we haven't been doing much cooking, and the only outside things we have to stow are the sat dish and the electric cord. The water hose belongs to Jimmie.
We went to Alberta's (Jim's mom) in Morehead City for our last visit on this trip. She prepared a great Mexican dinner of tacos and refried beans. Then we all sat around and talked for a while.

We got back to the RV and watched TV (and I chatted). Tomorrow is travel day.

Be careful, many of the name brand tires like Goodyear and such also get their trailer tires from China. Sometimes you have to look up codes to find this fact out. The dealers will not tell you unless you really press them.
Yup... I second what Rod and Loyce said about checking date codes on the tires BEFORE they get mounted on. Salesmen will make you feel like you are getting a great deal when they are really just dumping off old stock on you that might 2-3 year old tires that have been sitting and rotting. Tires need to be flexed and moved with pressure in them to keep them viable, not setting in a warehouse.

As for tires, Don't know your sizes but mine are the 16.5" Loadrange E tires and I lost 3 or 4 before I finally replaced them all about 3 years ago.
Not willing to pay for Michelins I got their lesser BFGoodRich line and have been totally pleased. The one's I got from Sam's have been excellent and they are commercial LT tires. (I know there is a lot of controversy about whether RV specific tires should be used or not on trailers).
In my case, our King of the Road has triple axles and I did a lot of research before I decided to go ahead with the BFGoodrich tires.
Although I do prefer Michelin, the cost difference is dramatic. I have had BFGoodrich tires on my Dually and Van and never had any problems. My Son uses BFGoodrich on his commercial HDT Tractor, too, and has been very happy with them.
The LT tires are made for commercial use (The full model name is BFGoodrich Commercial T/A All Season tires.
