It’s All About the Fifth Wheel

(Beaufort, NC) Hi 77 Lo 68 - We got up just after the sun came up over the river, 7:30am.  Jimmie had arranged for some workers to come and wash our RV today and they were due at 8am. So we had our cup of coffee and waited for them to arrive.  They showed up at 8:40 and we immediately put them to work. It's been a while since our rig has washed, so it really needed it.  They spent two hours scrubbing it down and did a wonderful job. Now we have a bright white and shiny home!

When we bought our rig we ordered the 4-door refrigerator, which forced us to give up the pantry. We have a tall, narrow open closet next to the fridge that's meant to be a clothes closet. We wanted to have shelves put in it to convert it to a much-needed pantry. Jimmie, who is a construction expert, agreed to do the job for us. He measured the area and we headed to Lowe’s for the shelving.

This is what the "closet" looked like. The clothes hanging bar has already been removed.

This is our new pantry. It doesn't have the fancy pull-out shelves, but at least now I don't have to stack plastic tubs inside it.

Now I have a nice area for food and baking goods. What a nice arrangement! Thank you Jimmie for doing this for us.

While we were out Jimmie took us by the Beaufort Marina to show us his boat. He built the cabin and interior himself, so you know it’s built well.  It has a stove, sink, refrigerator, self contained bathroom, bed, and a flying bridge. What a great boat. It's for sale too... if anyone's interested in it, just contact me at deewalter09@yahoo.com

We came back to the RV and rested for awhile, then had pizza for dinner. Sharon and Jimmie borrowed a DVD movie from our collection. We retired to our place.  Jim his Kindle and I read blogs and went into the chatroom.

We contacted our son and my sister in St. Louis, MO to ask about the tornado that hit their area last night. Lambert St. Louis Airport was hit directly by an EF-4 tornado, which also destroyed many homes north of the airport.  Everyone is ok, and they’re hoping to have the airport open soon. It sure has been a rough spring in the midwest.

Thumbs up on the closet makeover. I'm glad your family is ok after that tornado. Is this what spring is going to be like? Then will come the extreme heat, drought, etc., of summer.

Great to hear your family didn't get any damage from the tornado. It must have been a bad one.

Nice closet makeover!

Your new shelves fit the bill perfectly! And makes that space much more usable. Good job!!!

And your spiffy clean rig can make you smile each time you walk by and see your reflection in the side?
