Yard and Craft Sale

(Wauchula, FL) Hi 84 Lo 64 --  Cloudy with rain coming in later tonight. Windy but nice and warm. There was so much activity around this morning when I got up, but didn’t think to check the calendar.

I went for a walk and saw several tables with merchandise out in front of the rigs, then remembered it was yard sale day.  Everyone with stuff to sell put tables in front of their rigs.  In the clubhouse they had tables with crafts and other small items for sale.  (Jim picked up a DVD of the movie "Inception" for $3.)  It was fun walking the entire park to see what people were getting rid of.  Remember, most residents live in park models and have homes up north, so there was a huge variety of items.

These are some of the craft tables.

Today was what Jim calls his "piddle" day.  The first weekend of each month he "piddles" around outside the rig and does his monthly maintenance checks.  He checked the water in the house battery, checked the tightness of the screws around the outside walls, dumped and flushed the tanks, and ran the generator for about an hour.  He says everything checked out ok.

We played shuffleboard, but not as many showed up because of the wind and threat of rain.  Wind can blow the pucks off course, and they sometimes go everywhere except where you want them to go.

Tomorrow we’re going to Orlando, and we have a few things scheduled for the rest of the week.  I love February in our little part of paradise.

Quite a few parks around here had garage sales today also. Is there something special about this date?

"Piddle" day huh? Never heard it called that but I like it. On the other hand, when I "piddle" around I rarely get much done or accomplished. :-)

Piddle days and yard sales are always better when the weather is above freezing. And you don't have to shovel rain.

Steve would LOVE it if every day could be a piddle day!

And I would sit out front of our rig, with a table full of my wool socks, rugs, and towels and totes!

Don't ya' just love being a snowbird with all the neat things to do and see and friends to meet and visit with. I laughed when I watched the In Home Instead video - seniors have such a great sense of humor and can laugh at themselves. Keep sharing those photos of the parks you find along the way.
