Last night was a typical night before moving the next morning, I didn't sleep much. We were on the road by 9:45, good timing.
Traffic was heavy but not bad, no worse than some of our other trips. We stopped twice at rest stops and one had this sign that we giggled over.
This cross is on 70 near Effingham, IL. I've seen it so many times, and people have talked about it, but this time I had a camera and took a picture. I love this cross, it's huge and can be seen for miles.
We arrived at White River Campground in Cicero, IN at 3:45pm Central time, but now we're back in Eastern time zone so we've gained an hour. Our site is number 97 and the White River runs in front of us. They have been flooded twice in the past month, but it's currently in real good shape. I only had time to get just a few pictures. I'll get out and get more pictures of the area before we leave on Friday.

In front of us the river is behind those trees.
Jim did a terrific job backing in. There were several women and small children next to us and they were also impressed. The concrete pad is a 90 degree angle from the road, and not angled like you usually see. It also has a nice size tree right in front where you have to turn. Jim backed right in with no problems.
After we got set up we went to Bob and Marian's for dinner. Bob and Marian are dear friends who used to live in NC. We try to see them whenever we pass through this area. They are amateur radio operators, and we met them at a local amateur radio club in Raleigh. They built a house in Noblesville, IN and our RV park is only 10 miles away.
Dee, Marian and Bob
Thanks Marian and Bob for a great dinner tonight.

Gotta love backing in with an audience. I hope they gave you a round of applause...if they threw money, that would have been even better ;)

Can't beat those amateur radio operators, LOL. They are the salt of the earth, kinda like RVers. But amateur radio operators that are also RVers well,,,,what can I say?

Glad to see you had a safe journey to Indiana, lot's to see there. We will be following you on the 17th to Little Farm RV Resort in Rising Sun IN. across the river from Cincinatti. We haven't decided if we will split the week in half and go to Dayton OH for a few days before heading home. Sam wants to take Adam to the Air Force Museum in Fairborn. Not much going on, up in the middle 90's again for the next few days, hope we stay away from any more bad thunderstorms. Be safe out there. Sam & Donna.
There's another cross like that one in the Texas panhandle. Can't remember the name of the town that it's near but right beside the freeway.
