Discussion with the Younger Set

It's Friday, another week down. It rained almost all night and for some reason I rolled and tossed the entire time. I think we both had three hours of sleep. Just one of those restless nights.

I had a visit with the vampire for my six months blood work at 8:45. I came home ate and went to work. I go in next week for the results. That's when I notice how fast time goes, every six months a checkup.

I did all the weeklies in record time. Neither boss was there, so worked in a couple games of Bejeweled. I tried to check on the basketball games later in the afternoon, but didn't get scores till I got home, so far I've lost two games and so did everyone in the office so I'm still in the running for a night out to eat. It was a very quiet day.

I had a long discussion with the new employee that had the twins. For those that have'nt been following very long on my blog, we hired a "kid" that has twins and a four year old. The wife runs the place and tells him when to come home and she sleeps during the night and he gets up with the kids. She says she's with them all day, so he can be with them all night. Now that's fine, but he sleeps at work or comes in half alert, comes in late, sleeps in another room on the floor and just can't cope. That's a bit of a background. We discussed today the differences of our lives and his life. I'm from old school where the wife takes care of the kids, the man makes the living. He thinks our generation started the not caring about other people and not going by any rules. Well, maybe, we both laughed about the 60's in the bra burning and the "I'm not doing that" attitude. He may be right. It was quite a conversation and as time goes by there's less and less respect, rules and overall caring about anything. Defiance is huge, but it also was that way with my parents generation saying we'd never make it. I really enjoyed our discussion. It makes one think, where did it all change.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I only have a few things to hide and get ready for showings of the condo. I do need to wash a few windows and clean the shower. Otherwise, I'll be playing games, watching the Bristol race on Sunday, and reading blogs.

Days left to leave for the wedding 67

Well the 60 were certainly different but having to work is one of those things that two people have to do today just to stay ahead of the game. So sad that so many kids miss out on having a stay at home Mom...I will always remember my Mom being there for me..
