Visiting - Avon Park - Tornadoes

Auburndale, FL (Hi  63  Lo 42)

We love visiting especially when it's a day trip. Saturday we went to Ocala, about an hour and half from us to see a couple that just moved from our community to an apartment.
Ted and Gail

We're always interested in apartments since that will probably be our next move at some point. We loved the apartment with two bedrooms and two baths lots of room and even a garage. We don't like being any further north then we are now, but it's nice to know there's apartments big enough not to feel really confined. We went to lunch at a Bojangles. We loved going there in North Carolina, and it's the closest one to us. They don't have them any further south than Ocala.

Sunday we went to Avon Park to deliver some critters I made for a lady. She wanted zoo animals and in black and gray (except tiger). They turned out cute.

Tiger, zebra, giraffe, elephants mom and baby, and bear.

While we were there my sis and hubby met us at Jacaranda restaurant. It's a culinary school and the food is excellent. The restaurant is decorated for Valentines Day. They have a piano player that's been there forever. He's very good in playing requests.

There's a bench to have your picture taken. This couple was posing.

We had a great visit then came home to chill out the rest of the day, of course I have more crocheting to do.
I made 5 can coozies for a gal.

Monday I worked at hospice. Still working computer stuff.  It was a very busy day and the time flies.

Tuesday I had maids in to do one hour of work. I'm getting bathrooms and floors cleaned which kills my back. I'll see how it works out.

Wednesday we had the weekly coffee meeting in the morning. I finally got my hair cut. Hairdressers have it made, they'll always have a job. For dinner we had a friend over for chicken and dumplings.

Thursday was interesting. Neither of us moved from our chairs. A good down day, but all day the news reported major severe storms coming in from the west with a cold front. It was 84 degrees and the cold front was bringing snow north of us and 40's to us, again. This time we had a few tornado warnings and ended up with lots of damage on the gulf coast. By the time it got to our area it was less severe. Odd to have tornadoes in February, but weather is crazy these days.

Friday Jim left early for an audio expo in Tampa. He goes yearly to see the latest in music equipment. Last year he won a very expensive wiring setup. He sold it because he had no use for it. He had a great time and was impressed with lots of speakers and headphones. He came home about 5:00.

That's this weeks fun.
