Winters are busy in our community. I'm working on the directory and it's been fun talking and getting to know people signing up for photos. I'm getting great response and it all starts Monday.
Last Sunday was our monthly Knockers bingo. Monday was darts. Tuesday is shuffleboard, but this week we had a Lakeland Magic basketball game. This one was at 11:00 so the county schools would have a day at the game. There were over 2,000 kids. Our seats were used for the kids and they all had those plastic thunder sticks so we moved to the seats by the floor, and so did a lot of other people. (Click on the photos to enlarge),
The Magic won the game and the kids were having fun and most watched the game.
Wednesday and Thursday I was taking calls for the directory to schedule photos. I stayed close to home. I got the lists ready and double checked with the gals that helped call every resident.
Friday morning I went to shuffleboard. There were 18 players, and it was so fun to get back to it. In the afternoon we went to McDill AFB, Tampa to meet with our RV'ing friends. It's been a couple years since we've been there so we stopped at the commissary for groceries. We forgot just how great it was shopping for new items and getting wine at a good price. We met at the BX and then went to the base restaurant right on the bay. On Friday's they have one pound of snowcrab legs, potatoes and corn on the cob for a great price. We had a couple drinks and visited waiting for the sun to go down.
