Mother’s Day – Tropical Storm Ana

(Cherry Point MCAS, Havelock, NC)  Hi 82 Lo 68 -- We waited all week to see what Tropical storm Ana was going to do. It came in around Myrtle beach and then turned toward the north. We got the back side of it Sunday night, it rained all night and until noon Monday. We were glad there was very little wind.

I hope all the moms out there had a great Mother's Day. Sharon and Jimmy had us over on Sunday for a great dinner, and we were joined by Jim's other sister Robin, and Mom Alberta,. They made a delicious dinner of several vegetables, along with ham, and blueberry cobbler for dessert. It was a wonderful celebration of the mothers in our family.

Monday I started getting everything secured for our move on Wednesday. We took Mom Alberta out for a prime rib dinner to thank her for all the meals she prepared for us while we've been here. She was delighted!

I’ve been experimenting with using different size yarns and hooks using the same crochet pattern. Here are two elephants I made - mama and her little baby - both using the same pattern. I'm really enjoying making the little critters. I have so many more to make.

Today Jim will be getting the outside things ready for tomorrow's move. Mom is having us over for a farewell dinner tonight. We've enjoyed our extended family time this year. Tomorrow we're off to Raleigh, the place where we started our full time journey over five years ago.

See you in a few days.
