(Milwaukee, WI) Hi 57 Lo 37 -- The trip from Wisconsin Dells to Milwaukee yesterday was wet. The rain was nonstop, not hard but just enough to be extra cautious on the road. The trip took about 2 1/2 hours and we had light rain for both hitching up and setting up.
We’re set up at the Milwaukee State Fairgrounds RV Park in West Allis, a few miles west of downtown Milwaukee. It’s the equivalent of a parking lot park, all pavement, but it's full hookups and very well located for any activity you want in Milwaukee. There’s a lot of construction all around us so it wasn't real easy getting around. When we pulled in we saw this big pumpkin. It’s an inflatable building set up for a Halloween festival (already?).
It’s very chilly so we had the fireplace on during the evening and the little space heater on in the bedroom all night. The furnace won’t come on so we added that to the list of things to be fixed when we get to Indiana next week.
The highlight of today was meeting with Steve and Karen. We "mooch-docked" in their driveway three years ago. They drove down from Chilton to spend the day with us. Read more on their blog,
We visited in the RV then went to lunch at Double B’s BBQ a couple of miles away. The food was great and so was the fellowship.
After lunch we returned to the RV for more gabbing, then they had to leave to return home. It was great seeing you guys again. Thanks for coming down!
Jim went to a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game this evening. Another stadium checked off his list. He'll tell you about it in tomorow's blog.
See you tomorrow.
