On to Wisconson

(Lake Delton, WI) Hi 53 Lo 43 -- We had a rainy start to our travel day yesterday. The rain let up to a drizzle by the time Jim started the outside chores. We moved four miles to the Goodyear tire dealer at 8:30 to have our new tire installed. We were done with that and on our way by 10:30.

We were looking forward to meeting up with John and Bridget for lunch.

We met them just before we got our RV, and saw them last about 3 1/2 years ago. They were heading west and we were heading east, so we met them in between at a Culver's for lunch. They recently traded in their fifth wheel for a nice Monaco motorhome.

We spent about an hour and a half over lunch catching up on our travels. It was great seeing them again and hopefully it won’t be another 3 1/2 years before we see them again.

We had an uneventful trip to Wisconsin Dells. Jim kept a nervous eye on the tire pressure monitors, but everything went very well.

It turned cold last night, down to 43 degrees. Jim ran the furnace for a while this morning to warm us up. We notice there’s snow in the Montana area that we just left, so we’ll keep moving south to keep warm. We’re hoping there won’t be any more severe weather as we move through the midwest.

Since we’re moving tomorrow morning we’ll do our park review today. We’re in Country Roads Motorhome and RV Park in Lake Delton, just a couple miles from Wisconsin Dells. We were in this area in July 2011 and we couldn't remember what park we were in. I looked it up on our blog and discovered we were in this same park! Jim did his normal research on where we'd stay this time when we got here and picked this park, not knowing we were here before. Another indication we're getting old.

Today we went to the local Walmart for some groceries, and while we were there I got a haircut. It's my first one since my haircut disaster 12 weeks ago. (You can read about that in this  previous blog post.)

Tomorrow we're headed to Milwaukee, a city we haven't seen yet. We'll be at the Wisconsin State Fairgrounds, which is only about three miles from Miller Park, home of the Milwaukee Brewers. So you know what Jim will be doing while we're there. :)

See you in two days.

Be forewarned, the traffic is horrendous in that area, Hwy 94 is under construction and there are lane closures. If you're into architecture at all there are some fabulous finds in Milwaukee, City Hall among them! Overall traffic is much less overwhelming than in other cities of comparable size as long as you avoid the rush hour.

I saw that fellow bloggers Phil & Rudee in South Dakota has a surprise snowfall in Rapid City. Oh what fun! Your haircut turned out much better this time!
