Our Time At Adelaide Shores is Winding Down

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 68 Lo 40 -- There wasn't a whole lot going on the past few days. We got settled after returning from Ft. Lauderdale, including putting up the sun screen on our awning. One day after getting everything set up we had to pull the awning in because of high winds. We've had to pull the awning in more times this year because of wind than in the past. We had a hard rain shower on Wednesday that lasted about 10 minutes. At least it's not snow. :)

I did a lot of crocheting, trying to finish another afghan by Friday for the Linus Organization. Jim is playing shuffleboard regularly every morning before I get up, and we both played with another couple a couple of evenings.

We're starting to say goodbye to our friends as they start leaving for their northern homes. Some will be back next winter, and others won't be coming back. The park activities are starting to wind down. There's still a potluck dinner, a couple more concerts, a garage sale, ice cream socials, shuffleboard and golf tournaments, then everything will shutdown by April 15. Some folks stay in the park during the summer, but not many. The clubhouse will be locked up and so will the laundry, but the pool will stay open.

Today Jim mowed the grass on our site one more time, and I went over for crafts this afternoon. This Sunday I'll take part in my first Handbell Choir performance at church.

See you in three days.
