Satellite Dish Tripod, and a New Car

(Avon Park, FL) Hi  84  Lo 57 -- It turned out we've had a pretty active three days.
I finished one of the afghans that I’ve been working on. There’s still two more to finish.

This turned out longer than it should be because I ran out of yarn.  :(  I’m going to have to remember to buy more of each color, since once it’s gone it's very difficult to match it. Another lesson learned. I’m finally getting the knack of getting the sides even.

Jim’s a happy camper. When we saw Howard of RV-Dreams a couple weeks ago, Howard showed him a nice heavy duty tripod for his satellite dish. Jim decided to get one. It’s very stable and he's able to get it perfectly level with the adjustable legs. He's real pleased with it.

Now we have the old one up for sale.

I’ve been crocheting and we’ve both been playing shuffleboard. Yesterday Jim had the truck serviced, getting it ready for our summer travels. Today we took my car in for its service at the Toyota dealer, and while we were waiting we looked at the new Toyotas. We weren't looking to trade for a new car, but we've had some issues with our 2010 RAV4, and we were never really happy with it. We both fell in love with a beautiful blue left over 2013 RAV4 Limited. It’s much quieter than my car and drives like a dream. And it also has about every option available, including navigation system, satellite radio, backup camera, heated seats that you can set with a memory for each of us, and a moon roof. And the safety and technology improvements in just three years are incredible. Well, we mistakenly joked that if they could meet our out the door price we'd buy it. We figured there was no way they'd give us enough for our hail-damaged car with a badly dented/scratched rear fender. After about 20 minutes of consultation between the saleslady and the manager behind closed doors, the manager came out and said there's no way he could meet our price, but he could get close. We thanked him and said no thanks, we're very strict with our budget, and headed for the service area to wait for our car. It wasn't long before the saleslady came to get us with an offer sheet meeting our price. Jim used to sell cars, so we knew that dealers are usually desperate sales at the end of the month. Well, we took the offer, and now I'm the owner of a nicer and much more luxurious car, which we got for an incredibly low price.

I think we have that very same tri-pod & it's great. Adjustable legs & sturdy makes it a winner. We had one like your old tripod & I just hated that thing. Nice car for sure & it should last you a long time. Toyota means quality:))

Congratulations on the new car purchase, I hope she brings you lots of joy to come. The tripod is also really cool, that is the kind of tech that really interests me. Must be such better reception compared to other forms of wired tech. thank you for sharing this as it has really inspired me to go out and do!
