Indiana Lunch

(Avon Park, FL) Hi 73 Lo 39 -- It's been busy around here. Monday I had to be up by 7:00 to be at the foot doctor by 8. I'm not a morning person, but I figured it would be a good idea to get an early appointment hoping I wouldn't have to wait as long. Wrong! There were only two people ahead of me and I still didn't get seen until 9:00. Then I waited in the exam room until the doctor finally strolled in at 9:30. It seems he has to sit at his computer and put in every detail for the previous patient for 20 minutes until seeing the next patient. If that's the case wouldn't it be better to add 20 minutes to each appointment? I now have arthritis in both feet, so I got a cortizone shot in my left foot (I had a shot in my right foot last month). I'm still going to walk but not as far or as fast as I used to go.

Here in the park many folks from various states organize group lunches. There will be a Pennsylvania lunch, a Michigan lunch, an Ohio lunch, etc. On Monday we went to the Indiana lunch at the Jacaranda Hotel. We sat with another couple that we haven't met before. It's fun meeting with people from the same state I grew up in. After the meal we had an Indiana trivia contest. It was quite fun.

We're replacing our RV entry steps. Jim removed the old broken steps a few days ago. After doing all the measuring, he found a matching set online at eTrailer.com, with free shipping. Within two hours of placing the order he received an email from an actual human at eTrailer informing that, not only are the steps already shipped, but they upgraded the shipping to UPS 2-3 day, at no charge. What wonderful customer service! If you need any kind of RV or towing accessories, we highly recommend eTrailer.com.

I finally finished the half square afghan I've been working on. It was a challenge, and I'm sure I won't be doing another afghan with the same pattern any time soon. I did learn you have to have the same type of yarn and same ply to make it work. It's smaller than  a normal afghan, but I think it's pretty. You make little half squares, then take the different colors and connect them to make full squares, then attach them all together.

Tuesday Jim went to the dermatologist for the annual checkup he was supposed to have last week (he forgot his wallet and ID so had to be rescheduled). He's been cleared for another year. That's another appointment accomplished done for the year.

By noon today the winds were increasing with an approaching cold front. It's going to be cold again for the next couple days.

Next blog will be in three days.

Glad you are taking care of all the doc issues now... I hate waiting for appts but at least with my tablet or smart phone, the time can pass quickly.
Better than their outdated selection of odd magazines!
