Baseball and Movie With the Family

(Edwardsville, IL) Hi 63 Lo 38 -- We didn't linger long this morning. We stopped for lunch at Culver's then went over to the kids' then we all went to Kendall's baseball game. He's in the first year of "real" baseball, where the players pitch instead of a coach. Frank is the coach of the team. Kendall played catcher for an inning.

He also played second base and third base during the game. All the kids rotate different positions so they can get a lot of learning experience. Kendall plays basketball, football, and baseball, so he's pretty busy all year. During the game Kyle and I snuck away and took a short walk on a nice path that goes behind the school and the ball fields. It was very peaceful.

When the game was over we went back to their house so Frank and Kendall could change clothes, then off to see the movie Ironman 3. We love going to the movies with the kids, we do it every time we come to see them. This movie was great! It had some unexpected turns and a lot of laughter. We recommend it.

We went to dinner after the movie to Shooters, a little sports bar/restaurant in town. It's new since we were here last year. It has very good food, but is very noisy. It's like Buffalo Wild Wings, only smaller. We came back to the house for a few minutes before leaving for our home.

Kyle, Kendall and Jim.

When we got home we watched the end of the NASCAR race in Darlington, SC. Tomorrow we're going to Troy, MO to see my sister Doris and her husband Herm, and to bring mom back to spend a few days with us.

Sounds like a fun day. I love the path behind the school & ball fields, and can't wait to get out and find my own such path.
