(Edwardsville, IL) Hi 74 Lo 54 -- Rain was expected this morning, but it was sunny, hot and humid as we hitched up to leave Marion, IL. We did hit rain off and on the whole way to Edwardsville, including a very hard storm about 30 miles from the destination.
By the time we got to Red Barn Rendezvous at about 1:30 it had quit raining. We're looking forward to four weeks of fun with son Frank, his wife Angie, and the two grand boys Kyle and Kendall.
When we were led to our site the owners pointed out a Killdeer bird nest with two eggs in it, right in the middle of the entrance to our site. Killdeer like to make their nest in gravel. Jim carefully drove into the pull through site so that he kept the nest in between the truck and RV wheels. We can see the nest right out our back window, so now can watch and hopefully see the little ones when they hatch.

Our site. It's a pull through that's parallel to the road.
Both slides came out ok, but the full wall slide is real close to the water bib.
The small slide is close to the bushes.
The office just down the road from us.
Other sites
We would have preferred one of the regular diagonal pull through sites, but ours is one of only two that have an electric meter. We were given a great one-month rate, but we have to pay for the electricity. Financially that makes it worth putting up with the narrow site. We normally stay at the Scott AFB famcamp when we're in this area, but they couldn't give us a site for a whole month without having to move. They also only have electric and water, so we always had to hitch up and move to the dump station every 10 days or so. This is park is a little further away from our son, but closer to my sister and mom, so we’ve found a great new place to stay when we’re in the area.
We didn’t do anything the rest of the day, but we’ll sure be busy starting tomorrow.

Please say "Hi" to your mom for me, and cherish still being able to visit with her.
If I'm not working next Sunday, 5/19, maybe we can meet for lunch?
Enjoy your family time. I know you will.
