(Fortson, GA) Hi 82 Lo 64 – We sat outside this morning with our coffee and watched the wildlife. There were all kinds of critters scurrying about getting their breakfast or playing. We pretty much have the park to ourselves, so it was all about nature.
This young squirrel just sat and stared at me.
Here's a couple of views of the lake.
Looking over to our site from the tent area across from us.
I did my hilly walk to the office this afternoon. It was warmer and I’m still getting out of breath, but it's worth it.
This evening we went to dinner with Jim and Judy. They got off work for the week around 5:30 and came to pick us up. We went to Hunter's Pub, a little dilapidated looking place about four miles from the park.
They have no sign outside to attract the public, but a lot of people know about the place by the look of the crowded parking lot.
The food was absolutely delicious! Judy had fried lobster tails with salad, baked potato, green beans and roll. The two Jim’s had all you can eat spaghetti and meat sauce with rolls, and I had blackened fish, the best fresh spinach I’ve ever had (it was sauteed in garlic and olive oil, with a touch of sugar), sweet potato fries, salad and roll. My Jim even got to bring home his "refill" of spaghetti in a takeout box.
We visited with Jim and Judy awhile at their rig before coming home and settling in for the evening. Another wonderful day!
