Georgia On Our Mind

(Fortson, GA) Hi 70 Lo 58 -- We thought we'd get some bad storms last night, but all we got was some rain. We were thankful for that! We had a great morning to hitch up and get on our way to Georgia. It rained off and on for awhile along the way, but then cleared up to be a beautiful day. (Click on pictures to enlarge)

We saw several pecan tree orchards. They’re all in a line and a lot of them.

The dogwoods are in bloom. The trees are all budding, which made for a bright green looking scenery.

We got to Blanton Creek Park Campground at 3:30, and met with our friends Judy and Jim, who are workcamping here. They were our neighbors at Adelaide Shores for three months. We have a beautiful site right on lake Harding.

What a view! There’s a lot of trees, but they’re not closing us in (or touching the RV). We’re going to enjoy spending some time here with our friends.

We did have a bit of a scare while setting up. When I opened up our long slide out, it went all the way out on one end, but was blocked about three inches on the other end in our bedroom. We brought the slide back in and Jim found a little flash light I kept in a cubby space had fallen on the floor behind the frame of the slide and was preventing it from going out all the way. Whew, that was scary! Thankfully the slide is now working fine.

Looks like a beautiful place! Not quite your type of park but I'm sure you'll enjoy it along with spending time with your friends. Have fun!!!

We are worried about that happening to us and we check many times before we go in and out! I am glad to hear that all is well. Thanks for the heads up on this new park. We will be going that way next winter as things look now. We might be spending some time in Florida too. Kris wants to go to Orlando.
