(Avon Park, FL) Hi 84 Lo 66 -- The biggest topic of discussion around here is usually the weather. We meet people and the first topic is "how do you like this weather?" On the phone to family members the topic usually gets around to weather at some point. Today was no different.
The midwest is suffering through a huge snow storm. Our family is in Missouri and Illinois, and so far they've had 10-12 inches of snow. The same system is headed to the northeast. There's rain in the south. The weather is usually good here in Florida, but you can't count on it being the same from one year to the next. We're glad we have wheels so we can avoid the worst of the winter weather. We're very glad to be south of I-4 this year in Florida.
We went to church and got back home before it started raining. We also got our walk in before it rained, but later it poured and we had some lightning and thunder. It knocked out our electricity while we were watching the NASCAR race, but it came back on before the race was over.
I worked on my new computer program Quicken, and I'm very pleased with it. I've been "training" it to label our spending categories and it's picking them up very well. I had to add a few, but it's easy to do. Jim read on his Kindle and I played a few games on the computer, read blogs and just took it easy. Normal Sunday kick back day.
We have two more weekends to go before we pull up stakes and head out for our summer travels. I hate to leave the area, but we're both ready to see more of our great country. I just hope the weather cooperates.
