Cherry Point - Turducken Dinner

(Beaufort, NC) Hi 68 Lo 56 -- It was a nice fall day, much cooler than yesterday. We had breakfast with Sharon, then the three of us went to pick up Jim's mom and headed to Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in Havelock, about 15 miles west of us. We wanted to check out their famcamp. It's very small, and located right next to the commissary and MCX (Marine Corps Exchange). It gives us another option when we're in this area.

We did a little browsing at the Exchange, then went to the commissary for some groceries. On the way home we had lunch at at local 50's-themed hamburger place. At home we chilled for a couple of hours while Sharon prepared a special dinner. She roasted a "turducken", which is a duck inside a chicken inside a turkey. Really. She bought the turducken online from a company in Louisiana. She also prepared mashed potatoes and stuffing with gravy. She had all her stove's burners in use, so her boyfriend Jim prepared green beans and ham on the stove in his motorhome. Dessert was lemon pie. Mom Alberta and Aunt Roberta came over and joined us. It was quite a feast, and was just like a Thanksgiving dinner. Talk about good!

Jim stayed at the house to watch the Presidential debate with Jim and Sharon, and I spent the evening in the RV reading blogs and on chat. We're keeping busy.

I have heard of those turduckens. How was it? You're the first person I've come across that actually had one.
