Car Repair - Major Grocery Shopping

(Buckley AFB, Aurora, CO)  Hi 88 Lo 59 -- I couldn't pull myself away from looking at the mountains. It's our first time to see a real mountain range this close. We can't wait to go up in them.

Last night I took some pictures of the sunset. The sunset changes within seconds. I won't bore you with a lot of pictures, but here's my favorites.

Clouds with a silver lining, gorgeous.

Jim made an appointment for today to take my car to the Toyota dealer to have a strange engine noise checked out. We left after lunch and dropped the car off, then went in Jim's truck to the commissary for some groceries. There's one of those do-it-yourself car washes next to the commissary, so Jim dropped a few dollars in quarters and washed the worst of the grime off his truck.

We really needed a lot of groceries. It took over and hour and half to get everything and another two hours to put it all away. Our cupboards and fridge are bursting at the seams. Jim took pity on me and made a spaghetti dinner.

We settled in for the evening, and I'm back to watching the changing weather and cloud patterns over the mountains. So cool!

I have trouble wrapping my head around someone not having seen mountains before. Sort of like someone from Montana not ever having seen the ocean before. Enjoy yourselves and hope the car gets fixed quickly.

The sunset does look lovely! No wonder you like taking pictures of it when you’re up in the mountains. Anyway, it is good that Jim took the car to the dealer to have it checked. What did the mechanic say the problem was? The mere act of washing the car can actually be helpful in retaining the aesthetic appeal of the car. That would keep the paint from fading too quickly.
