Back in the Chicago Area

(Joliet, IL) Hi 83 Lo 59 -- It was cooler when we got up this morning. We went to a diner called Iron Skillet for breakfast. It was in a truckstop just outside our campground. We had a great big breakfast that lasted almost the whole day. I wish I could do that every morning, except I would probably get fatter eating that much food.

We pulled out at 11:30 to head for Joliet, only about 100 miles away. We had a lot of traffic along the way, but we moved along at a steady speed about 10 mph under the speed limit and just let everyone go around us. We hit I-80 and as usual there was a stream of semi trucks. We knew we were back in the Chicago area.

We arrived at the Hollywood Casino RV Park around 1pm (central time) and got a nice 50 amp site close to the laundry and bath house. We don't have a sewer hookup at our site, so we'll have to hitch up and go to the dump station in about a week. We'll be here 15 days.

Looking toward the bath house from our RV.

It's nice to be back on central time. We're looking forward to spending time with our younger son Rick, wife Laura, and the grandkids. But we're not looking forward to the crazy traffic around here. Tomorrow evening we get to see our grandson Jack play in his very first baseball game. It should be a fun couple of weeks.
