A Day of Eating

(Moscow Mills, MO) Hi 57 Lo 36 – We had a very chilly night. We’re thinking we left a little too early from Florida. :)

We picked up mom and drove about 30 miles north to Bowling Green to visit with our friends Ken and Cindy. This was our third day in a row seeing Ken, and today Cindy got to join us. We try to see the two of them whenever we're in this area. We met for lunch at Crystals restaurant in downtown Bowling Green, which is about halfway between their home in Quincy, IL and our place.

We had a nice lunch and spent a couple of hours of catching up on their lives and future plans. We told them all about our winter park, Adelaide Shores RV Resort, and they might be interested in joining us there for part of this winter. Boy, talk about getting us excited! After we had lunch we went to Bankhead's Chocolate Shop, a small place that makes their chocolates on site. We're suckers for good chocolate, and we all made some purchases.

Jim and Cindy are trying to figure out what to get.

They also sell jewelry and various sundry items.

Thank you Ken and Cindy for a great time. See you again soon.

We headed back to the RV and relaxed for awhile. Then my sister Doris and hubby Herman came by to pick us up to take us to dinner to celebrate all of our birthdays and anniversaries for this year. We went to one of their favorite restaurants, BC's Kitchen in Lake St. Louis.

We had appetizers of Shrimp Scampi and Fried Calamari. Then Jim and I had BBQ ribs, Doris and Herm had broiled Walleye, and mom had a bowl of gumbo. And afterwards we had dessert.

It was all wonderful! I don’t think we could have eaten another bite if we were paid.

We came back to the RV and just relaxed. We were too full to do anything else. :)
Tomorrow is our last day with mom and sis. We’ll sure miss them.

That thin mint girl scout cookie pie sounds like just the ticket for Steveio who loves those thin mints!
