Torrential Rains Overnight - Adjuster

I keep forgetting to post about the packing of the RV. After all the leaning and the bouncing there was only one tub of tupperware and some cans of soda that went out of the side closet and all over the floor. I was very proud of not having things coming out of the overheads or things broken. I guess it's ok to pat myself on the back for that one.

We knew we were in for a rainy/windy night and it was on time at 3:00am we got blasted with very hard rain. The winds didn't seem to be as bad as we thought they would be but with the underbelly being open we were a little worried about rain doing even more damage. It poured for about an hour then we both drifted off to sleep. Jim got to work ok but there was some flash flooding around the area. At least there were no tornadoes which was mentioned on the news.

I got up about 9:00 and the insurance adjuster was here by 9:45. He took pictures and left. He told me he's seen damage a lot worse then ours and will be in touch soon. The longest wait will be the parts coming down from the Carriage factory in Indiana. So we wait.

I went to the apartment to do laundry, pick up our mail and picked up mom for groceries. I also got some plastic so we can cover the hole underneath the rig so air won't get thru the vents as much. It's going back to 20's this weekend and maybe snow, so we want to protect it a bit.

I got lost coming back to the rig. I was thinking of other things and made a wrong turn somewhere, not sure where but I called Jim to get me back home. It might be a good idea to put the GPS back in the car so I can turn that on. Ok, that's the laugh of the day.

The RV is rocking and rolling, if we have an earthquake we'd never know it.

Days left for Jim to retire 11

Tom and I were away for the weekend and I missed all the excitement. I am really disappointed that you will not be coming to Texas. I was really looking forward to meeting you in person. We will be at least 4-5 months before we can hit the road, I think. We will make it a point to head in your direction.

Glad you and Jim are able to get the rest you need. There's one trueism one should never forget...someone has always been there done that and probably done it worse. Sorry to hear about the change in plans, but the seminar sounds like a good idea, whether one needs it or not.

Good for you Dee!! tThe packing paid off and yes, you get credit for that and so much more. You have had such a great attitude about everything. What a good example for others to follow.

You hang in there and you guys will be back on the road before you know it. These things happen to us all.
